4 Easy Steps To Plan and Order Your Custom Decal

When planning your custom decal, the following steps/questions apply to most items offered:
  • Step 1: Decal Material Based on Your Intended Application
  • Step 2: Size of Your Decal
  • Step 3: Print Colors
  • Step 4: Quantity Desired
Step 1: Decide how you want to use your decal and choose the decal material that will accomplish it. There are basically 4 types of decal materials available:
  • Self-Adhesive White Vinyl
  • Self-Adhesive Yellow Vinyl
  • Self Adhesive Clear Polyester
  • Static Cling Clear Vinyl

When deciding on the material, a few questions you need to answer:

Do I need a Self-Adhesive decal or a Static Cling decal.

  • Self-Adhesive Material: Use when the decal is intended for long-term application (i.e. Bumper Sticker)
  • Static Cling: Best for applications that require easy removal, short term use (i.e. Oil Change Service Stickers)

If your decal is to be applied to glass, do you plan to apply it to the inside or outside of the glass

  • For inside application: order adhesive or static on face of decal
  • For outside application: order adhesive or static on back of decal

Step 2: Determine the finished size of your decal in Square Inches

Step 3: How Many Print Colors In Your Design?

The number of print colors in your design will effect your decal's final cost. If you are printing Red, White and Blue colors on a white vinyl decal then you have 3 print colors in your design.

In the above example, the decal is printed on white self-adhesive vinyl using 2 print colors - Purple & Yellow

In the above example, the decal is printed on Yellow self-adhesive vinyl using 1 print color - Black

In the above example, the decal is printed on White self-adhesive vinyl using 4 color process printing - photographic images

Step 4: How Many Decals Do You Need?

When deciding the quantity to order, plan ahead. The cost per decal decreases dramatically as the quantity increases. If you know you will be using a certain quantity within a certain period of time, it makes economic sense to order the largest quantity needed to receive the lowest cost per decal possible.
